Faces and Places
Hello! I’m Nicola. I’m a Sgitheanach – from the Isle of Skye – and I started Lasair back in February 2021. I live on the family croft with my husband and our three children, and I love that I get to live and work where I grew up, still part of our lovely community here in south Skye.
The idea behind Lasair – meaning spark! – was to offer a professional admin and support service in both Gaelic and English, virtually, so that our support could reach further afield while allowing me to build a business from home.
This year, I welcomed Eilidh to the team as my first associate. Eilidh is an Uibhisteach – from North Uist – and, like me, she lives and works in her home community surrounded by family and friends.
We’re both native Gaelic-speaking islanders and have spent most of our careers in Gaelic-related roles – across corporate, governance, marketing, project and community-based work.
Together, we support Gaelic organisations and small businesses across the Highlands and Islands.
We offer services in both Gaelic and English, and because our support is remote*, you can be based anywhere.
Have a look at our Services page to see what’s on offer. We’re here to help you grow, become sustainable, or bring your ideas to life. Consider us your wing women when it comes to getting things done!
*We’re also happy to provide in-person support locally, such as for meetings or personal assistance. Travel costs are charged at 45p per mile.
